Well, it could be that you are in tremendous luck! The fact is we have a record of replying to you, I have two notations on your order marked "Reply Sent" and was about to follow up and you replied.

You are in luck, because you will have your book (plenty in stock) and a "Link" to FAZA SQUADRA. The Link is Mr. Piloti Sam Caronia who is one of the 8 Piloti including Cosentino, the Slave-O-Matic for the 7 drivers who only came to race. Sam and I won 3 races (Cosentino first - Sam second - nose to tail) with FAZA SQUADRA FIAT ABARTH ROBOTS which never had a major or minor repair at the track or around town in garages away from the race tracks with Fiat Abarths, Abarth Simcas or Abarths! Only once did we have a problem, due to insane SCCA officials (all major failures as drivers), in the 1970 National Championships. I had 2 ROBOTS, one was for Craig Fisher, who finished with high points for 2nd in the Northeast Division behind Cosentino. I warned these lamebrains that it could freeze up so late in November. This is the time of year to go duck hunting! But even the ponds were frozen up! In spite of the fact that I took the oil out of both Robots the night before the race to the warm hotel room. In the A.M. (7:30) we started warm-up practice. Everyone was pulling the race cars in the small paddock. Mine was frozen up but went out at 3,000 RPM and I heard a con rod knock on the first lap! First time in my life to hear this sound. I thought the oil pressure would build up.  It did not!  Those amateur lamebrain volunteer officials!  Craig's Abarth was borrowed, my ex 1968 Robot, loaned by the buyer. It was OK.  No freeze up! But the head gasket failed. The owner had been experimenting during the entire season for more piston compression to go faster than FAZA SQUADRA.  He exceeded 13.5 to 1 compression.  S-O-M was prepared for this possibility: So, Slave-O-Matic got both wounded Robots in the school bus, the greatest way to transport 3 FAZA SQUADRA ROBOTS.  I sent Craig for 10 gallons of kerosene to flush all the lines up to front radiators!  S-O-M had to perform up to 97%.  It is that last 2 and 3 percent which goes wrong.  The race was the next day.  No one assisted me, but the crowd around the bus were all vultures looking in the windows - hoping that I did not have enough talent and drive on my own to be a 97 percenter and that we may not race tomorrow!  I'm Carlo Abarth Racing University Trained.  If I failed, that left number one and 2 pole positions open for them, the UPAF (UGLY POWER AND FORZA).  The race day was on.  We were the GPAF (GOOD POWER AND FORCE) at the front of the grid with the ROBOTS.  Both FAZA ABARTH ROBOTS lapped the entire field.  Both # 7 and # 6 were always nose to tail - Craig wanted to let me cross the finish line first, but I pulled in behind him a split second before he backed off. 

 

God Bless Carlo and his 220 Amici Dello Scorpione.  Ish would fly twice a year to Abarthville Cloud 9 in Italia. Sam Caronia, Craig Fisher, or Doc You Are Crazy Joe Castellano, would race the ROBOTS, they never had to do any repairs or even minor tuning, only change warm up spark plugs to cold plugs.  When you see Sam, ask him about the phenomenal S-O-M, who performed an instant operation in a 1971 National Race at Cumberland, Maryland.  Because `none other' made a blackout error taking a set of new Abarth pistons off the shelf.  My first training at Abarth's Racing University in May, 1963, was as an apprentice helper of the Bialbero engine chief.  The engines were from 750 to 1000cc.  They required shaving the piston dome down and cc'ing.  A metal template was provided to get the right compression ratio, depending on the client's engine needs.  Brain fade had too much compression, a 2nd `blackout' for the chief FAZA SQUADRA wrench was over the maximum, which was 13.5 to 1.  Very briefly, there was only 22-24 minutes before the green flag dropped, so blackout started to operate.  Dropped the split magnesium oil pan, then removed the cylinder head to take out the #3 piston.  The very very special INOX 2mm head gasket was no longer round.  Replaced the Abarth head gasket and only one piston, while the vultures were praying that the invincible S-O-M would not have the time to make the unique Abarth engine fire up!  With all the fluids, it started on the first crank.  S-O-M had a 3rd `blackout' .....regardless of the skill demonstrated, it was 97 percent impossible to get any points.  I was pulling up my nomex pants when the entire field took off on the green.  I said, "It is too late, Sam!" He replied, "No! Try, try, go ahead!" I did try, thanks to Sam.  As the entire first lap went by, I was just going out the pit lane under the green flag!  By the 4th lap, I was in the lead of my 1000cc class and wound up 2nd overall in the 1300cc cars!  MITF, of the IDID IN DEPTH-IN DETAIL to publish.

In early 1947 both artist Joe Kidd and Gould Hulse embarked from a bus which left from Penn. Station at 34th street in TBRR [THE BIG RAT RACE] .....N Y. City.  Their destination was the Newark, N. J. Dear AL: So great to get your message! I have been worried about you for some weeks since I have not had a reply to my several messages sent to you over the last few months. Let me start by reporting that the event in Savannah, GA., at Robeling Roads was simply wonderful. The weather was cool in early December and the Abarth made great horsepower. I took 5.5 seconds a lap off my previously fastest lap time there. I also ran bit more air pressure in the tires which allowed me to drift further to the outside on the fastest corners, and thusly carry more speed out of those corners. I hope the new 2005 calendar arrived in good order. That picture on the calendar was taken at Robeling Road Raceway, December 2004 (note: the beautiful Campagnolo wheels you sold me). The new engine is almost finished, but I still need the correct flywheel. Thanks for looking through your spares for me. I keep searching on E-Bay and elsewhere. Two weeks ago at Moroso (SCCA Winter Nationals) we did extremely well, and it was our good fortune that it rained very hard during the final race and we flew by many cars with five or six times our horse power , to finish second behind a Lotus Elan Twin Cam with rain tires (I was caught out there with dries on). My next events are: February 14-16 at Moroso, and February 25-27 at Sebring. If the new memory stick in my camera works well, I should have more pictures to send to you. Everyone who sees the FAZA signs on both rear quarter panels stops me to inquire about you, and then they share some story with me about something famous they remember you doing, years ago  when you were racing. There are some great Al Cosentino's stories out there.
